“Texas Sports Red Baseball is the only sports club for our son. His new skills have boosted his confidence so much - he's like a new player.
We couldn't be happier!”
"Baseball is a game that takes individual dedication, determination, perseverance and talent to succeed. The opportunities that are available at the collegiate and professional levels are at a premium, and I want to help you get to those levels. I have played at the professional, collegiate, and international levels, in addition to coaching at the collegiate and high school levels throughout my career. I am excited to work with young players and help them succeed in the game." Coach Brandow
Texas Sports Red Baseball is a year-round premier high school baseball program that is built with players from the Dallas area who want to play at the next level.
The program is managed and coached by Derek Brandow and his assistants Ken Tabor, Ryan Engrav, Clayton Garcia, John Quisenberry, Troy Rakestraw, Michael Farmer and David Ellis. Garcia and Quisenberry are former TSR players and current collegiate players. Troy is also a former TSR player, and is currently attending Texas A&M.
Derek Brandow was a pitcher in the Toronto Blue Jays organization for seven years, a College World Series participant for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and a member of the Canadian Junior Olympic Team and Senior National Team.
Ryan Engrav is currently a teacher and coach in the Mesquite ISD. He was a catcher and utility player at Wichita State University and Newman University. Engrav was a member of the Oklahoma 6A State Champions, Union High School, in 2005 and 2006.
The program provides the opportunity for all players to advance their skills and showcase their talents during league and tournaments. Younger players are often provided the opportunity to play up to experience the speed of the game, advance their experience and to assist the program.
We are housed out of the Big League Sports Academy in Rockwall, TX.
BLSA is a newly renovated sports facility with indoor and outdoor mounds and cages, indoor air-conditioned weight room and pro shop with parent lounge and an outdoor lighted fields. It provides the opportunity for quality workouts rain or shine.
A sad day for the TSR Baseball family.
"Today, August 11, 2014, Kay Quisenberry passed after a hard battle with cancer. I would like to send a huge prayer out, on behalf of the TSR family, to the Quisenberry's letting them know that they are in our thoughts. We are greatly saddened with this loss. God blessed us all with Kay and continues to, for I know that Kay will always be watching over us." Derek Brandow
I am going to step away from the high school level for a while and discontinue the TSR Baseball Program. I would like to thank all of the players and families that worked to build such a respected and successful program. Many of our players are currently playing at the college level and possibly professional level in the future. Again, thank you all for great times I had. Good luck and continued success in the future. Derek Brandow
